HYPNOBIRTHING - WHAT IS IT?
Hypnobirthing is a full logical birth preparation programme. The aim of the programme is to reduce fear, impart knowledge and confidence to truly empower parents to make informed decisions about their birth experience and ultimately, have the most positive birth for them.
Practically, The Calm BirthHypnobirthing provides mum, birth partner and baby with tools that can be used throughout labour in order to feel calm and in control of the experience. Hypnobirthing techniques encourage mum to work with her body, trusting her instincts leading to a calm and confident birth. The Simply Birth teaching supports mum and birth partner in making informed decisions which in turn allows the best birth for mum and baby.
The practice of hypnobirthing techniques throughout pregnancy are also very beneficial to reduce stress during pregnancy and can be a lovely way to connect with baby while enjoying the pregnancy journey.

WHAT IS THE "HYPNO" PART OF HYPNOBIRTHING?
The "Hypno" part of hypnobirthing the practice of using deep relaxation techniques. This is NOTHING like stage hypnonosis. Mum remains conscious and calm throughout - there is no risk of clucking like a chicken!
During pregnancy, when practised, these relaxation techniques release fear by positively re-framing birth, dispelling any of the usual negative expectations that are put on us by the media and negative birth stories.
These relaxation techniques are then used during labour to maintain calm allowing mum to follow her instincts and allow her body to birth her baby.
