A BIT ABOUT ME

I am a mum of two little boys living with my husband in the south side of Glasgow. I am a massive tea fan (my absolute drink of choice), love a Scottish holiday and enjoy a proper blether (hand in hand with the tea drinking, right?!)

I discovered Hypnobirthing while expecting our son. As with many people who come across it, initially I was sceptical (my husband even more so!) I feel the name "hypobirthing" does the programme a disservice because it suggests it is a lot of hippy nonsense. However, I couldn't have been more wrong.

What I discovered was a logical, gentle and practical birth preparation programme that provides information, knowledge and skills to support us in preparing for a positive birth.

It provided information to understand my body and my baby, some key practical breathing and relaxation techniques and also detailed the essential role of the birth partner.

Most importantly, it prepared us to consider all aspects and potentials for birth. By giving us the skills to question and inform ourselves, we felt equipped and therefore calm, for all eventualities, which supported us in preparing for a positive birth experience.

Hypnobirthing really offered so much to my husband and I prenatally, that I was motivated to train as a Hypnobirthing practitioner. I am passionate to support other couples preparing for an empowered and positive birth experience.
